As a result of the passage of House Bill 2003 during the 2025 legislative session, it is now state law that students not utilize personal electronic devices (PED) such as cell phones, ear buds / phones and smartwatches during class time. This will include when they are somewhere other than the classroom during the time that class is taking place, for example, trips to the restroom. We have amended our policy and resulting consequences to align with this legislative mandate and West Virginia State Board of Education guidelines.
