If you’re interested in mentoring and tutoring children, look no further. Serve as an AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer in our Foster Grandparent program and strive towards healthy futures and success. Greenbrier County Schools will operate on a three-hour delay schedule on Monday, January 8.
Planning is underway for the 2024-2025 school calendar! We invite parents, students, staff, and community members to complete a brief online school calendar survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/K8NC79M. The survey closes on Friday, January 19. Calendar options and a planning guide are available at https://www.greenbriercountyschools.org/page/school-calendar-planning. GCS will host a public forum regarding the calendar on February 13 at 5:30 p.m. and March 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kyle & Ann Fort Arts & Sciences Building on the New River CTC campus. The 2023-2024 school calendar will be presented for approval at the regular meeting of the board of education on March 12.
Next weeks students will take 1st semester comprehensive exams on 1/10, 1/11, and 1/12 unless they are exempt. Students that are exempt from every exam on any given day are not required to report to school that day. Students should talk with their teacher if they are unsure whether they are exempt or not.
