Enrollment Basics

Families that wish to enroll their child in Greenbrier County Schools during the school year may do so at their home school, determined by the attendance zone. If you are unsure about your attendance zone, don't hesitate to contact our transportation office at 304-647-6461.

  • Pre-K

What to bring (Please see lists in pre-k & k sections) :

  • Two Proofs of Residency

  • Proof of 2023 income (W-2s or Tax Return)

  • Official State Issued Birth Certificate (not a copy)

  • Immunization Record

  • Five-Year Physical  / Copy of Health Check Exam Form (Kindergarten)

  • Relevant Physicals ( Grades 1 - 12)

  • Copy of Most Recent Last Dental Exam

  • Child's Social Security Card

  • Custody Papers, if applicable

  • Name & Address of Previous School

Greenbrier County Schools (GCS) will host online preschool registrations for children who will be four years old before July 1. Families may complete the online registration form by visiting the PK page at www.greenbriercountyschools.org. Once the form is complete and submitted, the family will receive additional registration information from the preschool office. Families should begin gathering the required documentation listed below.

Pre-K ENROLLEES

Greenbrier County Schools conducts ongoing enrollment for the Universal Pre-K program. The link to register can be found here

The following documentation will be needed:

  • State-issued birth certificate (not a copy)

  • Immunization record

  • Social Security card

  • Two proofs of residency

  • Copy of Health Check Exam (4-year physical from a physician)

  • Copy of most recent Dental Exam

  • Two proofs of residency

  • Proof of income (Current W-2s or Tax Return)

  • Insurance card

  • Relevant custody order, if applicable

  • PreK parents must complete the online application

Kindergarten Enrollment

Greenbrier County Schools (GCS) will host kindergarten registration on two dates and locations for children who will be five years old before July 1. Students currently enrolled in a GCS Pre-K program will automatically be enrolled in Kindergarten in their home school district; therefore, parents of GCS Pre-K students will not need to attend a registration session.

KINDERGARTEN ENROLLEES

Parents enrolling their child in Kindergarten should bring the following documents:

  • Two Proofs of Residency

  • Official State Issued Birth Certificate (not a copy)

  • Immunization RecordFive Year Physical  / Copy of Health Check Exam Form 

  • Relevant Physicals ( Grades 1 - 12)

  • Copy of Most Recent Last Dental Exam

  • Child's Social Security Card

  • Custody Papers, if applicable

  • Name & Address of Previous School

Open Enrollment for In/Out of County District Applicants

Families may complete the resident or nonresident open enrollment forms found below. Please return the application to Greenbrier County Schools, 653 Church St.  Lewisburg, WV  24901. ATTN:  Nancy Hanna.
