GCS reminds families that students will be released from school two hours early on Thursday, April 25, to allow for Faculty Senates.
Seniors and senior parents! This is just a reminder that next Thursday April 25th at 9:00 AM is our college decision and military signing ceremony. We want to recognize every senior who is heading off to any type of higher education or enlisting in the military. They should wear their college or military gear if they have any, and they'll sit together with their intended institution cohort. We'll have college representatives and military recruiters here and there will be plenty of opportunities for pictures. If your child is in this group of seniors, you are invited to attend the ceremony. We hope to see you then.
We are thrilled to announce that Emily Dunkle, GEHS Teacher of the Year, has been named the 2024-25 GCS County Teacher of the Year! As an Agriculture teacher at Greenbrier East High School, she goes above and beyond for her students. Recently also named as the WVDE New CTE Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Dunkle serves as the FFA Advisor, helps during the summer with the Ham Bacon & Egg Sale, and is partnering with the National Fish Hatchery to build Mallord Duck Housing. Her dedication to career exploration, inspiring students, and promoting agriculture education is unmatched. We are grateful for Emily Dunkle's positive influence on GCS students and celebrate her commitment to cultivating future generations of farmers. Congratulations, Emily! #TeacherOfTheYear #CTE #AgricultureEducation #InspiringFutureLeaders
If a student has failed a core class, they can recover it in Summer School and not have to repeat it next year. See the LiveGrade message or the News Post on the GEHS website for more info and a link to the application.
